We saw these gorgeous flowers everywhere, all along the mountain roads, but did not know what they were until we saw them at the museum. They are mountain rhododendrons. Aren't they beautiful?
So glad you are back and had a great time. I've enjoyed looking at the pictures.
When I lived back east and had friends come to visit from the west or mid-west they'd inevitably get car sick and feel clausterphobic (sp?) from all the winding roads, hills, and trees. When I moved out west it was quite different with the wide open spaces. I felt exposed to the world!
I am a home-educating mother of three sons, wife to a bishop in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, inveterate bookworm. I love faith, family, food, reading, poetry, birds, flowers, scrapbooking, and, oh, did I mention reading? My sons grow too fast, read, make a lot of noise, keep snakes and hamsters, and build elaborate structures with everything from popsicle sticks to electronics components.
