My sons grow too fast, read, make a lot of noise, keep snakes and hamsters, and build elaborate structures with everything from popsicle sticks to electronics components.

LOL, isn't that funny how our children want to use the lawn mower! i have one that wants to use my sewing machine. i wished they wanted to use the dishwasher, LOL.
I had to wait until I was 12 too. Things are different on a farm, though. Eve, 10, gets to learn how to rake the hay in a big tractor this year.
